Job summary

Blue Origin’s Lunar Permanence unit seeks an Engineering Operations lead for the Core Avionics Team in Seattle. You will improve operating cadence, manage budgets and schedules across electronics design through flight hardware manufacturing, and drive risk management and supplier coordination for space-rated avionics.

You will collaborate across IPTs, mentor teams, and lead Tiger Teams to solve complex electronics challenges while upholding Blue Origin leadership principles and safety culture.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering
• 7+ years in electronics design and manufacturing operations
• Experience from concept through production of hardware
• PCB design, component selection, and manufacturing process optimization
• Experience with SMT assembly, through-hole assembly, conformal coating, potting, and final test
• Experience with electronics design tools (Altium, Cadence) and MES
• Experience with electronics supply chain management
• Experience with EVM/Cost Account Management in electronics hardware programs
• Experience with Agile, Jira; MS Project or P6
• Knowledge of electronics testing methodologies including functional testing and qualification testing

Responsibilities

• Maintain IPT operating cadence and report metrics (technical, cost, schedule, risk) with focus on electronics milestones
• Monitor health of electronics design and manufacturing processes and identify improvement areas
• Integrate Core Avionics Group into overall program operations cadence
• Generate boards/tools for reporting IPT health to leadership, including design review status and test results
• Support IPT representation in agile product planning
• Coach teams in self-organization and design-to-manufacturing handoff
• Lead Tiger Teams for electronics design challenges and manufacturing issues
• Define and track all IPT receivables and deliverables with configurations
• Coordinate with internal and external electronics manufacturing and test facilities for on-time delivery
• Coordinate electronics design reviews, manufacturing readiness assessments, and supplier qualification
• Mentor teams and promote leadership while embodying Blue Origin principles
• Embody, promote, and coach leadership principles at Blue Origin
