Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville is seeking an Engineering Operations lead for the Core Avionics Team. You will streamline the engineering operating cadence, integrate vertical workflows, and ensure on-time delivery of flight-ready avionics hardware across multiple suppliers and internal teams.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and risks across the product life cycle from research and electronics design through final flight hardware manufacturing.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical, Electronics or closely related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years in electronics design and manufacturing operations on multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience from concept through production of electronics hardware (PCB design, components, manufacturing).
• Experience with SMT and through-hole assembly, conformal coating, potting and final test procedures.
• Knowledge of electronics design tools (Altium, Cadence) and MES.
• Experience with electronics supply chain, subcontracting, and obsolescence management.
• Experience with critical path scheduling, EVM, risk management and cost accounting in electronics programs.
• Experience with Agile project management and Jira in electronics environments.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera for manufacturing scheduling.
• Experience with electronics testing methodologies and DO-254 or aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operating cadence and report metrics (technical, cost, schedule, risk) focusing on electronics milestones.
• Monitor health of electronics design and manufacturing processes to reduce cycle time.
• Coordinate with Lunar Management Operations to integrate Core Avionics into program cadence.
• Generate reporting boards/tools for WBRs and PMRs with status and test results.
• Support agile product planning with emphasis on electronics design sprints and capacity planning.
• Coach teams in self-organization and design-to-manufacturing handoff processes.
• Lead Tiger Teams for electronics design challenges and manufacturing issues.
• Track receivables and deliverables with detailed hardware configuration tracking.
• Coordinate with internal and external manufacturing/test facilities for on-time delivery of flight hardware.
• Coordinate design reviews, readiness assessments, and supplier qualifications.
