Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an avionics CAD engineer to create, maintain, and release CAD models for the Transfer Stage Vehicle within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will generate detail parts, assemblies, and installation data using Creo and PLM tools, ensuring designs meet ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards and interface with subsystems.

The role requires 4+ years in aerospace, an associate degree in CAD & Design, and strong cross-functional collaboration with materials and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD & Design required.
• 4+ years in aerospace development or similar industry.
• Proficiency with Creo Parametric and Windchill for model generation and releases.
• Experience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5) and fits.
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies, BOMs, ICMs, and skeletons.
• Experience in designing spacecraft avionics parts and assemblies.
• Collaborative, detail-oriented with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design layouts and release data sets using CAD and PLM tools.
• Create detail parts, assemblies, and installation models.
• Place avionics boxes within vehicle models and verify alignment to specs.
• Review drawings to ensure compliance with standards.
• Apply manufacturing and design methodologies balancing cost, schedule, and performance.
