Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a designer to support spacecraft avionics and harness designs, releasing CAD data and collaborating with engineers on the Transfer Stage within the Lunar Permanence unit.

The role focuses on designing, maintaining, and releasing CAD data using Creo Parametric and PLM tools, with emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and attention to detail in a safety-first aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry.
• Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Knowledge of standard avionics components and harness routing in Creo.
• Knowledge of avionics brackets and secondary support structures.
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies and BOMs.
• Experience in cross-functional teams selecting materials and processes to deliver engineered products.
• Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, with willingness to perform low-level tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design layouts, create detail part, assembly, and installation models, and release data sets using CAD and PLM tools.
• Apply company design, drafting, and parts techniques to plan and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or MBDs).
• Interface with other vehicle subsystem teams to route harnessing in the vehicle model.
• Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure alignment with specifications and standards.
• Implement engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to balance cost, schedule and performance.
