Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a design engineer to support avionics harness layouts for the Transfer Stage within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will create, maintain, and release CAD data in Creo/PLM environments alongside engineers to meet ambitious spaceflight safety and quality standards.

Role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, attention to detail, and hands-on CAD leadership on world-class hardware for lunar transportation systems, with a strong culture of safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of aerospace development or similar industry.
• Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Knowledge of standard avionics components and harness routing in Creo.
• Knowledge of avionics brackets and secondary support structures.
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies and BOMs.
• Experience in a cross-functional team selecting materials and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, willingness to perform low-level tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing design layouts, creating detail part, assembly, and installation models, and releasing data using CAD and PLM tools.
• Applying design techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs.
• Interface with other vehicle subsystem teams to route harnessing in the vehicle model.
• Reviewing engineering drawings to ensure alignment with specifications.
• Implementing engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to balance cost, schedule and performance.
