Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an avionics CAD/Modeling engineer to create, release, and manage data for the Transfer Stage Vehicle within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will work on CAD layouts, detail parts, and assemblies, ensuring designs meet specifications and performance targets.

You will collaborate with subsystem teams to place avionics boxes, apply GD&T, and manage large assemblies in a cross-functional environment, contributing to lunar transportation systems development.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in CAD & Design.
• 4+ years in aerospace development or similar.
• Proficiency in Creo Parametric and Windchill for model generation/release.
• Proficiency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies, BOMs, ICMs, and skeletons.
• Experience designing spacecraft avionics parts and assemblies.
• Experience in cross-functional teams selecting materials and processes to deliver engineered products.
• Strong detail orientation and ownership; willing to perform low-level tasks when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design layouts and release detail parts, assemblies, and install models using CAD/PLM tools.
• Apply company design and drafting techniques to plan and maintain engineering data.
• Interface with vehicle subsystem teams to place avionics boxes in the model.
• Review drawings to ensure alignment with specifications and standards.
• Implement engineering/manufacturing methods balancing cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
