Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a CAD designer to develop spacecraft avionics harness designs and release CAD data using Creo and PLM tools. You will collaborate with engineers on the Transfer Stage within Lunar Permanence to ensure quality and manufacturability.

The role requires strong attention to detail, experience with large CAD assemblies, and cross-functional teamwork to select materials and define fits and tolerances. Bachelor’s degree preferred, 4+ years experience.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry.
• Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Knowledge of standard avionics components and harness routing in Creo.
• Knowledge of avionics brackets and secondary support structures.
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies and BOMs.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing design to produce world-class engineered products.
• Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing design layouts, creating detail part, assembly, and installation models, and releasing data sets using CAD and PLM tools.
• Applying relevant company techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs.
• Interface with other vehicle subsystem teams to route harnessing in the vehicle model.
• Reviewing engineering drawing and designs to ensure alignment to established specifications and standards.
• Implementing engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirements.
