Job summary

AV Hiring USA is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Grand Rapids, MI to lead complex A/V integration projects from planning through closeout. The role blends technical A/V expertise with strong leadership to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and superior client satisfaction.

You will partner with engineering, programming, procurement, and installation teams, manage detailed plans and budgets, and communicate effectively with clients and executives. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

4+ years of project management experience in A/V integration or related industries.
Strong technical expertise in A/V systems including signal flow, control systems, DSPs, video distribution, and networking.
Familiarity with AIA project documentation (drawings, submittals, change orders, schedules).
Proficient in documentation practices using M365; maintain project workbooks, trackers, and change orders.
Wrike and Excel proficiency; project management tools knowledge.
Understanding of construction methods and materials, including low-voltage systems and jobsite safety.
Demonstrated financial acumen: manage budgets, track costs, drive profitability.
Proven leadership with cross-functional teams and subcontractors; strong negotiation.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to influence executives.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly.
AVIXA CTS certification is highly desirable.
Collaborates effectively with Sales; cross-functional teamwork is essential.
Q360 proficiency is desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning through closeout, with accountability for scope, schedule, and budget.
Partner with engineering, programming, procurement, and installation teams to meet design intent and standards.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, adjusting to stay on track.
Establish and communicate success criteria, risk mitigation, and contingency plans.
Maintain client communication as the primary project contact with professionalism and trust.
Monitor and improve client satisfaction; support NPS goals through responsiveness and issue resolution.
Collaborate with Installation Supervisors to align staffing and subcontractor needs; monitor associate costs.
Identify and resolve project challenges with emphasis on risk management and prevention.
Monitor project financial health: revenue, margins, variances; flag cost overruns or back charges.
Ensure change management processes and documentation of scope changes and approvals.
Lead project kickoff meetings with sales, engineering, installation partners, finance, and clients.
Ensure comprehensive closeout: as-built docs, final deliverables, lessons learned.
Motivate and guide project teams; uphold accountability and quality.
Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and Sales for long-term opportunities.
Partner with Sales for seamless handoffs and cross-team collaboration.
Participate in post-mortems and drive continuous improvement.
Contribute to evolving PM practices, tools, and processes.
