Job summary

Stantec in the United States is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join our Energy and Resources team across North America. You will report to the Discipline Manager - Instrumentation and Controls and support a Delivery Center with exposure to Mining, Power, Oil & Gas, and Renewable Energy projects.

The role involves evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering instrumentation and control systems, plus calculations, QC, field work and client coordination, with some remote meetings.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Previous experience as a Lead Engineer on detailed engineering/construction projects.
• Willingness to travel to client sites (~10%).

Responsibilities

• Safety is a core value; adhere to health and safety rules for Stantec and clients.
• Develop design through sketches, models, diagrams, and redlines.
• Lead or participate in project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist project leads with scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with clients remotely as needed.
• Lead or contribute to instrumentation and controls deliverables and P&ID development.
• Participate in process safety assessments and 3D model reviews.
