The Hartford is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to manage a caseload of complex Auto and General Liability claims, including litigated matters. The role supports either Eastern or Western regions and may be hybrid or remote.

You will handle coverage analyses, reserve decisions, and strategic case management to achieve favorable outcomes. Required are seven years of complex litigated claim experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and proven negotiation ability.

Qualifications

• Seven years minimum handling complex litigated Auto and General Liability coverage and liability matters.
• Superior analytical ability and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent negotiation and advanced technical claim handling skills, including knowledge of coverage and tort laws.
• Ability to communicate clearly and influence others.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and analyze information gathered.
• Make coverage determinations and communicate positions to insureds and required parties.
• Set reserves within authority and monitor regularly for adjustments.
• Present cases to management for reserve authority decisions.
• Develop and implement resolution strategies for high quality outcomes.
• Manage litigation and counsel, including planning, budgeting, and bill review.
• Attend trials and mediations as needed.
• Contribute to claim and enterprise goals through audits and projects.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and deliver to senior claim leadership.
