The Hartford is seeking a Claims Specialist to manage a caseload of complex Auto and General Liability claims through the life cycle. Experience with litigated matters and defense counsel is essential. Role may support either Eastern or Western region in a hybrid or remote work setup.

Responsibilities include investigations, coverage determinations, reserve setting, litigation management, and reporting to senior leadership. Excellent communication and analytical skills are required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; law degree a plus.
• At least seven years handling complex litigated Auto and General Liability matters.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Superior analytical ability and organizational skills.
• Strong negotiation and advanced technical claim handling skills.

Aufgaben

• Investigate and analyze information to evaluate claims.
• Make coverage determinations and communicate positions to insureds and parties.
• Set reserves and monitor for adjustments within authority levels.
• Present cases to management for reserve authority decisions.
• Develop and implement resolution strategies for high quality outcomes.
• Manage litigation and counsel, including planning and budgeting.
• Attend trials and mediations as needed.
• Contribute to claim and enterprise goals through audits and projects.
• Prepare reports and deliver presentations on case developments and trends.
• Support field offices with coverage and liability analyses and deadlines.
• Evaluate claim trends with business partners.
• Address inquiries from agents and policyholders with strong service.
