Job summary

The Hartford is looking for a Claims Specialist to manage a caseload of complex Auto and General Liability claims from start to finish. The role may involve litigation, working with defense counsel, and coordinating with field offices to analyze coverage and liability issues.

You will set reserves, evaluate exposures, and present case updates to senior leadership. A strong record in litigated claims and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; law degree a plus.
• Seven years of experience handling complex litigated Auto and General Liability matters.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and evaluate information for complex auto and general liability claims.
• Make coverage determinations and communicate written positions to insureds.
• Set reserves and monitor adequacy within authority levels.
• Present cases to management for reserve authority decisions.
• Manage litigation with defense counsel, budgeting, and bill review.
• Attend trials and mediations as needed.
• Support field offices with coverage and liability analysis.
