Job summary

Alteva RCM in the United States is seeking a Senior Authorization Specialist to manage complex authorization cases from intake to final determination. You will serve as a subject matter expert on workflows, payer requirements, and medical necessity guidelines

In addition to handling your own caseload, you will mentor peers, assist with onboarding, and help identify workflow improvements. This role prepares you for leadership responsibilities within the team.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare authorizations, utilization management, insurance verification, revenue cycle management, or related healthcare operations.
• Strong understanding of authorization workflows and payer requirements.
• Experience working directly with insurance carriers and managing complex authorization cases.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-volume and complex authorization requests from intake through final determination.
• Navigate payer requirements, authorization criteria, medical necessity guidelines, and documentation requirements.
• Analyze insurance policies and payer rules to identify authorization pathways and escalation opportunities.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation within departmental systems.
• Proactively follow up with insurance carriers to prevent delays and drive timely determinations.
• Mentor peers and assist with onboarding, training, and process support.
