Job summary

SYSTEM West Virginia University Health System is seeking a senior leader to coordinate and supervise pre-authorization activities, ensuring efficient workflows and minimizing denials across outpatient services.

The role oversees a team of authorization specialists, analyzes denial trends, and partners with billing and revenue cycle teams to implement process improvements and maintain regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 5 years’ experience healthcare accounts receivables management, billing and collections.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the authorization team, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
• Communicate effectively with hospital personnel and Directors.
• Identify revenue risks and develop action plans to mitigate denials and improve processes.
• Monitor denials and oversee denial reduction initiatives and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure timely processing of authorizations and adherence to payer requirements.
