Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is hiring a Senior Associate, Broker Dealer Operations to drive critical broker-dealer workflows and ensure accurate regulatory reporting for Coinbase's U.S. equities business.

You will own reconciliations, transfers, corporate actions, and account maintenance while partnering with Apex and internal teams to build robust tooling and controls. The role requires 5+ years in financial services ops with direct experience in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in financial services operations, broker-dealer ops, clearing and settlement, or related control function with U.S. equities lifecycle experience.
• Ability to manage complex operational issues across multiple systems, driving investigation, escalation, remediation and closure without relying on runbooks for every scenario.
• Track record of authoring or improving SOPs, runbooks, controls docs, or audit-support materials in regulated environments.
• Hands-on experience with clearing broker-dealer systems (Apex Clearing, Apex Ascend) plus proficiency in SQL, Jira, and data-quality or workflow-automation tooling.
• Experience partnering with Engineering and Product to translate operational requirements into tooling, alerts, dashboards, or automated workflows.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring broker-dealer operations workflows across areas like reconciliations, corporate actions, securities transfers, account maintenance, error processing, and regulatory reporting support.
• Perform daily reconciliations of orders, trades, positions, balances, and cash between Coinbase and Apex records; document root causes and drive to resolution.
• Manage complex exceptions and time-sensitive incidents by coordinating remediation across multiple teams; prioritize by customer, financial, and regulatory impact.
• Build and maintain audit-ready documentation: SOPs, runbooks, control checklists, process maps; translate lessons into durable controls.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to define operational requirements, test functionality, validate launches, and improve tooling and dashboards.
• Identify systemic failure modes and lead process-improvement initiatives to reduce manual work and improve resilience.
