Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Mobile Engineer 4 - Android (Remote-Eligible) to lead native mobile work for Android and iOS platforms. You will collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features across devices and ecosystems.

You’ll own architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and help drive performance and accessibility improvements, with opportunities to explore AI-assisted development and SDUI patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering)
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply)
• At least 3 years of experience building native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift)

Responsibilities

• Partner with software engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-performing features for 100M+ customers
• Provide technical leadership for mobile architecture and design patterns
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and platform best practices
• Grow subject matter expertise in performance, accessibility, architecture
• Contribute to mobile architecture decisions, API design reviews, reusable components
• Lead design of Backend-for-Frontends (BFFs) and Server-Driven UI (SDUI) architectures
• Lead implementation and refinement of engineering practices for feature flags and staged rollouts
• Champion adoption of agentic AI tools to increase team velocity
• Apply mastery of mobile ecosystem to make high-leverage technical contributions
• Drive a culture of quality, performance, accessibility, and customer empathy
