Job summary

Capital One is hiring a Mobile Engineer 4 - Android (Remote-Eligible) to join our engineering teams delivering high-performance features for 100M+ customers. You’ll lead mobile architecture, mentor peers, and work across Android and iOS platforms to enable scalable, quality product experiences.

You will influence architectural decisions, drive API design reviews, and champion modern testing and CI practices while embracing AI-assisted development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience
• At least 3 years of experience building native mobile apps for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift)

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-performing features
• Provide technical leadership for mobile architecture and design patterns
• Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews
• Grow subject matter expertise in platform areas (performance, accessibility, architecture)
• Contribute to mobile architecture decisions and API design reviews
• Lead client Backend-for-Frontends (BFFs) and Server-Driven UI (SDUI) architectures
• Refine engineering practices for feature flags and staged rollouts
• Champion agentic AI tools and AI-native development practices
• Apply mastery of mobile ecosystem and advanced UI patterns
• Drive quality, performance, accessibility, and customer empathy in coding and testing
