Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a senior power electronics engineer to design, analyze, and test power conversion circuits for telemetry and flight termination products. On-site role requiring DoD Secret clearance and 8+ years in the field.

You will lead large design teams, guide ECAD drafters, and drive system-level concepts from requirements through integration, with opportunities to grow technically and contribute to a safer, more secure world.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with linear converters and buck/boost topologies.
• Experience with isolated topologies: flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, forward, push-pull, resonant.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica.
• Experience with EMI filter design and transformer/inductor design.
• Experience creating electrical design specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion circuitry.
• Lead design phases from requirements to integration and manage teams.
• Guide ECAD drafters and junior engineers on layout and creepage.
• Lead teams with schedule and budget execution.
• Foster technical growth and capture opportunities to mature the org.
