Job summary
RTX is seeking a senior Power Electronics Engineer to design, analyze, and test power and analog circuitry for telemetry and flight termination products. You will lead design phases, guide drafters, and mentor junior engineers, ensuring robust power solutions in a high-stakes defense environment.
The role is onsite in the US, Tucson area, with DoD clearance requirements and a strong emphasis on system-level integration, reliability, and collaboration with multiple teams to deliver
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in STEM with 8 years of relevant experience or Advanced STEM degree with 5 years of experience.
- Experience with linear converters and non-isolated topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost.
- Experience with isolated topologies: flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, forward, push-pull, resonant.
- Proficiency with MATLAB/MathCAD/Mathematica or similar tools.
- Experience with EMI filter design and transformer/inductor design and testing.
- Ability to create electrical design specifications.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion and related analog circuitry.
- Lead design phases from requirements to integration testing and manage large teams.
- Guide ECAD drafters and junior engineers on layout, routing, and creepage/clearance.
- Drive technical growth and capture opportunities to mature the organization.
