Job summary

Samsara is seeking an innovative Software Engineer with hands-on production experience building AI agents and automation tooling for customer support environments. In this role, you will own the design, development, and scaling of AI-powered agents — including deep agents built within S+GPT and our AI Hub platform — that automate and enhance support workflows and reduce agent workload.

You will take end-to-end ownership of AI agent and automation capabilities, from identifying support workflow

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and shipping AI-powered agents or automation tooling in production customer support or operations.
• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript for backend/automation development.
• Experience integrating with a customer support/ticketing platform (e.g., Zendesk) via APIs.
• Experience with AI agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex) or building custom LLM-based systems.
• Proven ability to independently own end-to-end delivery of technical projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills for scalable, maintainable solutions.
• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale AI agents and automation tooling for support workflows.
• Own and evolve integrations between AI agents and Zendesk/knowledge systems.
• Apply prompt engineering and RAG patterns to improve accuracy of AI responses.
• Collaborate with Support leadership and Post-Sales engineers to translate gaps into production capabilities.
• Champion code quality, testing, CI/CD, and observability in AI applications.
• Promote Samsara's cultural principles at scale.
