Job summary

Samsara is hiring experienced software engineers to define and ship full-stack features for AI-powered products. The role spans backend, frontend, and potentially mobile, with ownership of technical strategy and cross-functional delivery.

We’re looking for leaders who mentor teams, drive impactful projects, and thrive in an environment that blends data, devices, and software to transform real-world operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software design and development, including building and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals across backend services, APIs, and frontend (web or mobile).
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-team or cross-org projects from inception to rollout.
• Experience building AI-powered or data-driven products and turning AI into customer value.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A track record of zero-to-one products or major system improvements.
• Experience shipping AI-powered features in production (LLM-based, agentic workflows, etc.).
• Comfort with AI-augmented development workflows to multiply output.
• Background with real-world operational data or strong domain learning interest.
• Proven mentoring ability and influence on engineering culture and standards.
• Side projects or open-source signals of curiosity and drive.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities.
• Design and ship full-stack features end to end across backend, frontend, and mobile.
• Collaborate with product, design, and customer teams to translate problems into technical plans.
• Build and scale systems behind AI-driven products, including data ingestion and APIs.
• Lead reviews, mentor engineers, and set quality and velocity standards.
