Job summary

Samsara is seeking a data/AI engineer within Marketing Data and Analytics to turn ambiguous problems into data products, AI agents, and automation. You will build and operate production AI systems, design pipelines, and maintain the Customer Data Platform to enable advanced segmentation and analytics.

You will collaborate with BI and Data Science to expand conversational analytics, automate workflows, and ship robust Python and SQL code.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data or AI engineering with hands-on data engineering.
• Expert Python and SQL with strong data modeling.
• Built and shipped systems using LLMs or agents in production.
• Familiar with Databricks, ETL/ELT, and modern data stack tools.
• Lead requirements gathering and translate business needs into tech solutions.
• Self-starter with clear communication across technical and non-technical teams.
• Software engineering background with data/AI focus and problem solving.
• Experience supporting marketing, sales, or business operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production AI systems including agent orchestration and integrations.
• Architect and maintain marketing databases, pipelines, and the CDP for segmentation and analytics.
• Collaborate with BI to extend conversational analytics across marketing.
• Automate workflows with AI and deliver efficiency gains across marketing teams.
• Stand up new data pipelines end-to-end and ensure data quality and reliability.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into scalable technical solutions.
• Ship high-quality Python and SQL and review AI-generated outputs before production.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and define team best practices.
