Job summary

Samsara Inc. is seeking an experienced security engineer at the intersection of security and applied AI. You will be the AI-forward technologist on our AppSec team, using frontier AI models to identify vulnerabilities across cloud, software, and firmware before attackers do.

You will evaluate models for security use and help build guardrails for safe AI adoption. This role reports into AppSec, with a clear path to shaping Samsara's AI security strategy and influencing security across the

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in application security or related field with impactful fixes across orgs.
Hands-on experience building AI/agentic workflows for security use cases.
Experience conducting technical security assessments across software and hardware/firmware environments.

Responsibilities

Deliver accurate security assessments of Samsara's software, code, and firmware against AI-driven attacks and fixes.
Translate AI security findings into Samsara-specific fixes for the AppSec layer.
Identify AI-specific and traditional vulnerabilities (e.g., injection, IDOR) using AI-driven validation.
Build and test AI-enabled security tooling and drive adoption across security org.
Benchmark frontier models for security tasks and define release guardrails.
Support AppSec triage and participate in bug bounty program, including hardware scope.
Partner with engineering, hardware, and leadership; present findings to executives as AI security expert.
Help define Samsara's strategy for AI adoption within security operations.
