Job summary

Samsara is seeking an AI-forward Security Engineer at the intersection of security and applied AI. You will assess and secure software, firmware, and hardware against AI-driven threats, shaping Samsara's AI security strategy and guardrails.

The role targets candidates in the US (excluding SF Bay Area, NYC, DC metro) with 8+ years in security, hands-on AI workflows, and AWS/Github experience. Competitive base salary with RSU.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, offensive security, or a closely related discipline.
• Hands-on experience building AI or agentic workflows for security use cases.
• Experience conducting technical security assessments across software and hardware/firmware environments.
• Experience creating secure code with engineers using GoLang.
• Experience developing AI and agentic solutions using Github, and AWS cloud.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, consistent security assessments of Samsara's software, code, and firmware, evaluating resilience against AI-driven/adversarial attacks, and implementing fixes.
• Translate AI security findings into Samsara-specific fixes for the application security layer—including adapting techniques for hardware/embedded firmware.
• Find AI-specific and traditional vulnerabilities (e.g., injection, IDOR) using AI-driven offensive validation.
• Build and pressure-test novel AI-enabled security tooling and workflows, driving adoption across the security org.
• Benchmark frontier models for security tasks and define guardrails for adoption.
• Support AppSec vulnerability triage through office-hours rotations and help run the bug bounty program.
