Job summary

Samsara is hiring an AI security-focused engineer at the intersection of security engineering and applied AI. You will assess AI-driven risks across software, firmware, and cloud, and help shape Samsara's AI security strategy.

Open to US-based candidates outside SF Bay Area, NYC, and DC metro areas. You will deliver AI-driven security assessments, build guardrails for AI adoption, and lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, hardware, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience building AI or agentic workflows for security use cases.
• Experience conducting security assessments across software and hardware/firmware.
• Experience creating secure-code solutions with engineers using GoLang.
• Experience developing AI/agentic solutions using GitHub and AWS cloud.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate security assessments of Samsara's software, code, and firmware against AI-driven attacks and fixes.
• Translate AI security findings into Samsara-specific fixes for the AppSec layer.
• Identify AI-specific and traditional vulnerabilities (e.g., injection, IDOR) using AI-enabled validation.
• Build and test new AI-enabled security tooling and workflows; drive adoption across security org.
• Define guardrails and release criteria for adopting frontier AI models.
