Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking an experienced AI Platform Engineer to focus on platform reliability, AI operations, and measurable business impact. You will partner with business and technology teams to identify opportunities, shape AI-enabled solutions, and drive adoption across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities include designing future-state workflows, bridging business needs with technical teams, and building scalable agent-enabled capabilities while advancing governance

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in ML/LLM operations, MLOps, or AI platform engineering with production systems serving real users
• Built evaluation frameworks with metrics and CI/CD integration
• Deep observability experience: distributed tracing, custom metrics, alerting on AI-specific signals
• Production ML pipeline experience: model versioning, prompt management, A/B testing, canary rollouts, automated rollback
• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, insurance, fintech, legal) with audit trails and explainability
• Strong Python skills and ability to work in a shared codebase
• Familiarity with Azure ecosystem (Azure OpenAI, Azure Monitor, App Insights) or equivalent cloud-native AI infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize AI agent opportunities with leaders across Medical Management, Claims, Customer Service, Provider Services, Finance, and Corporate Operations to build a roadmap of agent initiatives delivering measurable outcomes
• Design future-state workflows for an AI-enabled environment and translate business needs into agent-enabled solutions
• Bridge business stakeholders and technical teams to define requirements, success criteria, and deployment plans
• Drive change management and adoption, train stakeholders, and ensure sustained use of AI agents
• Measure business value, track productivity gains, and optimize deployed solutions
• Establish enterprise AI governance and scaling frameworks for enterprise-wide adoption
• Engage with leadership to discuss priorities, opportunities, and investment decisions
• Deliver measurable outcomes and grow a portfolio of agent-enabled capabilities
