Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is expanding its live AI platform to transform healthcare operations. This role connects AI agent capabilities with business value by collaborating with business leaders, engineers, and solution teams to shape, deploy, and scale AI-enabled solutions across the enterprise.

You will drive platform reliability, design future-state workflows, and guide adoption, with hybrid work options and some travel to headquarters as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4-7 years of software engineering experience; equivalent combinations allowed.
• 2-3 years in ML/LLM operations, MLOps, or AI platform engineering with production systems.
• Built evaluation frameworks with defined correctness, golden datasets, metrics, and CI/CD integration.
• Deep observability experience: distributed tracing, custom metrics, alerting on AI signals.
• Production ML pipelines: model versioning, prompt management, A/B testing, canary rollouts, automated rollback.
• Cost optimization at scale: token usage, caching, or model routing to save infra spend.
• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, insurance, fintech, legal).
• Strong Python skills; able to work in a shared codebase.
• Azure ecosystem familiarity (Azure OpenAI, Azure Monitor, App Insights, Container Apps) or equivalent.
• Target stack includes Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Azure Container Apps.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize AI opportunities with business leaders across departments; build an AI roadmap.
• Design future-state workflows in an AI-enabled environment to improve efficiency and experience.
• Bridge business and technical teams to define requirements and ensure alignment of agent capabilities.
• Drive change management and adoption of AI-powered ways of working with stakeholders.
• Measure business value with KPIs and optimize deployed AI solutions for impact.
• Establish enterprise AI governance and scalable operating models for agent initiatives.
• Build strategic partnerships with leaders to drive AI strategy and investment decisions.
• Deliver measurable outcomes: reduced manual effort, faster decisions, improved experiences.
