Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Cyber Threat Defense Sr AI/ML Engineer to advance AI across our cyber defense ecosystem. You will design, build, and operationalize AI-powered threat detection and incident response at scale, balancing hands-on engineering with technical leadership.

You will work with GIS and security teams to deploy LLM-based workflows, conduct model governance, and mentor engineers while championing responsible AI in security operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on ML engineering experience with production models.
• Strong ML fundamentals: training, evaluation, drift, calibration.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered apps and agentic AI systems.
• Experience with data pipelines, MLOps, and deployment.
• Cloud AI platforms experience (Azure, AWS, Google) or equivalent.
• Understanding cybersecurity fundamentals and AI governance.
• Strong communication and ability to present to executives.
• Bachelor's degree; MS/PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered threat hunting and detection.
• Develop ML models and LLM workflows across lifecycle.
• Choose techniques based on problem, data, and risk.
• Build LLM-based tooling to aid analysts.
• Collaborate with GIS teams to enhance security controls.
• Prototype and evaluate emerging AI technologies for cyber threats.
• Partner with offensive security for AI-enhanced red teaming.
• Contribute to scalable AI integration architecture.
• Promote responsible and ethical AI in security ops.
• Advise leadership and mentor engineers.
