Job summary

Bank of America's GIS team seeks a Senior AI/ML Engineer to design, build, and integrate advanced AI into our cyber defense ecosystem. You will balance hands‑on engineering with technical leadership, collaborating with security experts to drive AI‑enabled threat hunting, detection, and incident response at scale.

Responsibilities include developing custom ML models and LLM workflows, deploying them in production, and guiding architecture and governance for responsible AI.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on ML engineering with production models.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch / scikit-learn).
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered apps and agentic AI systems.
• Experience delivering production systems at scale with data pipelines and MLOps.
• Experience with cloud AI platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP) or open-source infra.
• Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and AI governance.
• Strong communications for executives and cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; MS/PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered capabilities for threat hunting, anomaly detection, and automated incident response at scale.
• Develop and operationalize custom ML models and LLM workflows for cybersecurity use cases, from data prep to deployment and monitoring.
• Match techniques to problems based on data, risk, and context.
• Build LLM-based tooling to assist investigators and analysts.
• Collaborate with GIS teams to enhance security controls and architecture.
• Prototype and evaluate emerging AI technologies for cyber threat detection and response.
• Partner with offensive security teams for AI-enhanced red teaming.
• Guide scalable AI integration governance and architecture.
• Promote responsible AI with bias mitigation and explainability.
