Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior Cyber Threat Defense AI/ML Engineer to build and integrate advanced AI into our cyber defense ecosystem. This role balances hands-on engineering with technical leadership across the security stack.

You will develop ML models and LLM-based workflows for threat hunting, anomaly detection, and automated incident response, while ensuring governance and risk management across GIS projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on machine learning engineering experience, including fine-tuning, evaluating, and deploying custom models in production.
• Strong command of ML fundamentals, including model training and evaluation, feature engineering, embeddings, and real-world data issues.
• Experience delivering production systems at scale with data pipelines, MLOps, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered capabilities for threat hunting, anomaly detection, and automated incident response.
• Develop and operationalize custom ML models and LLM-based workflows for cybersecurity use cases.
• Match technique to problem, applying deterministic automation, classical ML, or generative AI as appropriate.
• Build LLM-based tooling to boost analyst effectiveness (investigation support, detection engineering, knowledge retrieval).
• Partner with GIS teams to identify AI-driven security improvements and governance.
