Job summary

EY seeks a senior architect to shape the knowledge, retrieval, and grounding capabilities powering AI products and agents. You will design a federated memory, establish shared meaning across domains, and define lifecycle expectations while guiding the teams on complex data and policy considerations.

In Challenger Core, you will lead lighthouse implementations, ensure evidence and provenance, and collaborate with security, privacy, and legal teams to enforce proper data handling.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of domain modeling, semantics, taxonomies, ontologies, knowledge graphs.
• Strong command of search relevance, hybrid retrieval, ranking, grounded generation.
• Ability to design reliable data pipelines and contracts across enterprise data.
• Experience delivering knowledge or retrieval capabilities across organizational boundaries.
• Fluency with semantic, graph, or retrieval technologies and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Own the target architecture, roadmap, and decision principles for knowledge, retrieval, and grounding for AI products and agents.
• Design federated organizational memory with shared meaning and durable interfaces.
• Translate business questions with domain experts to define AI interpretation needs.
• Shape reusable patterns to ingest diverse sources while preserving authority and lineage.
• Build retrieval approaches balancing relevance, latency, cost, and explainability.
• Ensure citations, provenance, quality signals, and evaluation hooks are inspectable.
• Partner with security, privacy, records, and legal to enforce data usage policies.
• Lead lighthouse implementations from prototype to production to scale.
• Define service objectives, observability, and post-launch quality measures.
• Create reference components and onboarding practices; mentor engineers.
