Job summary

EY seeks a senior architecture leader to shape the knowledge foundation for AI products and agents. You will own the target architecture, drive a federated organizational memory, and partner with domain experts to translate business questions into durable, provable information foundations.

You will lead lighthouse implementations, design trusted ingestion pipelines, and ensure policy-compliant retrieval with measurable quality and explainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• 9-12+ years of relevant experience.
• Substantial experience in data, information, solution, or platform architecture, including ownership of production AI, search, or knowledge systems.
• Enterprise delivery: a track record of delivering shared knowledge, search, graph, or grounded-AI capability across varied sources and organizational boundaries.
• Hands-on technical depth: fluency with semantic, graph, or retrieval technologies, strong SQL, and a general-purpose programming language.
• Data integration: designing pipelines that connect analytical, document, event, and operational information with clear production controls.
• Policy-aware architecture: evidence of implementing access, provenance, quality, and lifecycle controls through the production retrieval path and architecture judgment.
• Cross-functional leadership: guiding complex decisions and elevating engineering capability through influence and collaboration.
• Travel and on-site requirements: up to 50% travel and hybrid office presence.

Responsibilities

• Set the knowledge direction. Own the target architecture, roadmap, and decision principles for the knowledge, retrieval, and grounding capabilities used by AI products and agents.
• Design organizational memory. Create a federated approach with shared meaning, durable interfaces, and clear lifecycle expectations.
• Translate business questions. Define concepts, relationships, and boundaries for AI systems to interpret information.
• Engineer trusted ingestion. Shape reusable patterns for diverse sources while preserving authority, lineage, and uncertainty.
• Build effective retrieval. Combine search, semantic, graph, and structured methods with trade-off visibility.
• Make evidence inspectable. Ensure citations, provenance, quality signals, and evaluation hooks are included.
• Embed policy in the path. Work with security, privacy, records, and legal teams on enforceable use, retention, and deletion.
• Prove the architecture. Lead lighthouse implementations from prototype to production and scale.
• Operate and improve. Define service objectives, observability, incident learning, and quality measures.
• Build shared capability. Create reference components, onboarding practices, and guide cross-functional architecture decisions.
