Job summary

CCC Intelligent Solutions Inc. in Chicago seeks an experienced Senior AI Engineer to own LLM-powered systems and agentic workflows.

You will design, implement, and guard complex AI-driven claims efficiency features across Python/TypeScript stacks, focusing on system architecture, security, and auditability. You will define evals, guardrails, and monitoring, while mentoring engineers and ensuring robust, scalable, and privacy-conscious solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, incl. an LLM-powered system shipped to external customers.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript with strong conventions, typing, and testing.
• Experience designing evals/guardrails and production monitoring for AI systems.
• Proven ability to constrain and verify agentic tools in production workflows.
• Experiences blending LLMs with semantic search and classical NLP.
• Durable, event-driven architectures with idempotency and replay semantics.
• Data modeling across relational, document, and graph stores (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j).
• Hands-on with Azure or AWS, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code (Temporal/Durable Task Scheduler).
• Authored technical design documents spanning multiple teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of LLM-powered systems in Python and TypeScript from problem to production.
• Define evaluation gates, production signals, and guards for safe releases.
• Improve agentic coding tools: specs, hooks, permissions, and review standards.
• Design NLP pipelines combining semantic search, NLP, and LLMs.
• Build durable, multi-tenant event-driven systems with clear failure modes and replay.
• Ensure traceability: model calls and agent steps are auditable and citable.
• Set privacy/security baselines including tenant isolation and data retention.
• Draft design documents and mentor engineers; participate in on-call rotations.
