Job summary

Samsara is hiring for a senior role in Marketing Data and Analytics Engineering to shape the data foundation powering AI at scale. You will design Databricks pipelines, Gold Layer tables, and semantic models that enable self-serve BI and trusted analytics across Marketing, Sales, and R&D.

You’ll lead end-to-end data initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive AI-enabled products while upholding Samsara’s customer-first and long-term growth principles.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or AI engineering.
• Expert-level Python and SQL, with strong data modeling and DBT experience.
• Deep experience with data warehouse architectures and the modern data stack.
• Experience building semantic layers and AI-friendly data documentation.
• Agentic coding tools are part of your workflow and AI output is verified.
• Experience shipping and monitoring LLM/agent systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for MDA's data and AI foundation.
• Architect and own marketing data infrastructure: ETL/ELT, Databricks Gold Layer, core models.
• Design semantic layers and data dictionaries for self-serve BI and AI ingestion.
• Translate business questions into scalable data solutions across Marketing, Sales, and R&D.
• Lead cross-team data initiatives end-to-end and manage data quality and risk.
• Mentor engineers and analysts; raise engineering standards and code quality.
• Drive AI-driven data products and agents with reliable retrieval and evaluation.
• Automate workflows with AI across Marketing and GTM teams.
• Ship high-quality Python and SQL with prudent review of AI outputs.
• Champion Samsara’s cultural principles at scale.
