Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Fairfield, CA is seeking a Project Engineer to lead technical coordination for propulsion components and subsystems under the Program Chief Engineer. The role focuses on integrating mechanical, electrical, software, and systems work to deliver approved design baselines.

You will design detailed project plans, manage schedules and cost estimates, and drive execution of project controls. You will coordinate proposals, statements of work, and specifications, ensuring alignment

Qualifications

Experience leading product development projects through SRRs PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, and PRRs type reviews.
Strong analytical skills including strong knowledge of physics, dynamics, and statics.
Direct experience with manufacturing/Production support processes
Experience presenting design solutions to internal and external customers
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

Lead cross-discipline engineering activities at the project level to ensure integrated designs.
Design, communicate, and implement detailed project plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
Prepare technical inputs to proposals, statements of work, specifications, and estimates.
Translate design concepts into executable engineering tasks and coordinate test activities.
Monitor progress, identify issues, and coordinate resolution to minimize schedule/cost impact.
Provide clear project status to stakeholders and track risks and dependencies.
