Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Project Engineer/Chief Engineer to lead technical coordination and execution for propulsion components and subsystems. You will work under the Program Chief Engineer, guiding cross-disciplinary teams to meet requirements, interfaces, and baselines while supporting proposals and certification activities.

The role emphasizes day-to-day project controls, risk management, and resource coordination to keep scope, schedule and costs in line with program objectives. U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience leading product development projects through SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, and PRRS type reviews.
• Strong analytical skills including physics, dynamics, and statics.
• Direct experience with manufacturing/production support processes.
• Experience presenting design solutions to internal and external customers.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cross-discipline engineering activities at the project level.
• Ensure teams are integrated with consistent requirements, interfaces, and baselines.
• Design, communicate, and implement detailed project plans, including task breakdowns, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Lead day-to-day project controls, track progress, and provide status on technical, cost, and schedule performance.
• Prepare project-level technical inputs to proposals, statements, specifications, and estimates.
• Define and align project scope, assumptions, and constraints with program objectives.
• Translate design concepts into executable engineering tasks.
• Coordinate integration and test activities to support verification, validation, and certification/qualification objectives.
• Monitor progress, identify issues, and drive resolution to minimize impact on schedule and cost.
• Secure resources and information needed to keep the project on track.
• Provide clear project status to Chief Engineers, Program Management, and stakeholders.
• Keep risks, issues, and dependencies visible and tracked to closure.
