Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly experienced Project Chief Engineer to lead engineering coordination for propulsion components and subsystems in an onsite role in Fairfield, CA. You will drive design authority, manage project plans, and coordinate with program management to align scope with objectives.

The position requires extensive production-support experience, strong analytical skills, and a STEM background with 8+ years (or an advanced degree with 5+ years).

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cross-discipline engineering activities at the project level to ensure integrated designs and consistent requirements, interfaces and baselines.
• Lead detailed project plans, schedules, cost estimates, and day-to-day project controls for engineering scope.
• Prepare technical inputs to proposals, statements, specifications, and estimates with clearly defined scope and constraints.
• Translate design concepts into executable engineering tasks and coordinate integration and test activities for verification and validation.
• Monitor progress and resolve technical and operational issues to minimize schedule and cost impact.
• Provide concise project status and manage risks, issues, and dependencies to closure.
