Job summary

Eaton Group is seeking a Senior Sustaining Electrical Engineer to lead momentum product improvement initiatives and support troubleshooting and root cause corrective actions for field and production issues at the Grand Rapids, MI site.

The role focuses on reliability and quality improvements of motor controllers, DC motors, circuit boards, actuators and related components, with strong emphasis on analysis, testing and collaboration with operations, procurement, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in electrical engineering.
• US work authorization without sponsorship now or in the future.
• No relocation benefit is offered; candidates within 50 miles of Grand Rapids, MI will be considered.
• ITAR: All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Drive product improvements through engineering analysis, redesign and testing of electromechanical actuators and system hardware.
• Sustain product viability through evaluation and redesign of hardware with obsolete components.
• Develop test plans, specifications and general test procedures for requalification activities; coordinate requalification testing and develop test reports.
• Support PWA supplier transfer initiatives.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service and HPWT to drive cost reduction and improve reliability.
• Read and interpret internal, industrial and customer specifications; recommend enhancements from field data.
• Develop FRACAS system development, tracking, and metrics.
• Develop Fault Isolation Manuals for operations team to troubleshoot electrical components.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
