Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Lead Sustaining Electrical Engineer at our Grand Rapids, MI site. This on-site role focuses on momentum product improvements, reliability, and quality enhancements across motors, controllers, and related electronics.

You will report to the Engineering Manager, Electronic Products, and collaborate with operations, procurement, and customers. Responsibilities include leading test planning, addressing obsolescence, and supporting new product development and supplier transfers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Lead momentum product improvements through engineering analysis, redesign and testing of electro-mechanical actuators and system hardware.
• Sustain product viability through proactive evaluation and redesign of hardware with obsolete components.
• Develop test plans, specifications and general test procedures for requalification activities; coordinate testing and generate reports.
• Support Launch for New Product Development and Supplier Product Transfer initiatives.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service and HPWT to drive cost-reduction and quality improvements.
