Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced CAD engineer to design and maintain launch vehicle hardware, producing layouts and detailed drawings. You will work with engineering and manufacturing to ensure data integrity, apply GD&T and manage large assemblies in Creo/Windchill.

A strong design background and US work eligibility are required. Responsibilities include updating released drawings, enforcing drafting standards, and supporting cross-functional teams to meet cost, schedule and performance

Qualifications

• AS degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 7+ years designing/drafting aerospace, automotive or equivalent structures.
• Hands-on hardware on production floor or in service.
• Experience with Creo (Pro/Engineer) and Windchill; other CAD tools accepted if qualifications met.
• Strong mechanical design and integration with 3-D CAD software.
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies and drawings.
• Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41).
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and revise released drawings based on engineering change requests.
• Design and maintain product definition with layouts and drawings.
• Apply design/ drafting standards to plan and depict engineering designs.
• Implement standards to balance cost, schedule and performance.
• Support product structure organization and naming conventions.
• Prioritize and schedule own work in support of the team.
• Assist in developing and deploying drafting standards and act as a checker.
• Collaborate with design/analysis teams to disposition issues.
• Contribute to safe human spaceflight through quality work.
