Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced CAD Drafter/Engineer to translate concepts into precise 3D models and detailed drawings for spacecraft structures. You will produce and maintain assemblies and installation drawings, following GD&T standards and ASME Y14.5, while supporting ICDs and change requests in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years creating detailed drawings and models for aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and application (ASME Y14.5).
• Proficiency with Creo and Windchill PLM in aerospace contexts.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering designs and sketches into detailed 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using Creo/Windchill.
• Create and maintain detail part drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings per ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
• Develop and update ICDs under design engineers.
• Perform basic tolerance stack-up checks and drawing reviews for manufacturability and accuracy.
• Support ECRs/ECOs by updating drawings, models, and docs.
• Maintain CAD model and drawing version control in Windchill PLM.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Assist in first-article inspection and production by clarifying drawing intent.
