Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer/Drafter to support Stage1Tanks. You will create, revise, and manage drawings, layouts, and product definitions for propulsion-related hardware while ensuring quality and adherence to standards.

Role involves collaboration with design and analysis teams, and travel up to 20% to suppliers and manufacturing facilities. Strong experience with Creo, Windchill, and GD&T is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an AS degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 7+ years designing/drafting aerospace, automotive or equivalent industry structures.
• Hands on experience with hardware on production floor or in service.
• Experience with Creo and Windchill; other CAD acceptable.
• Strong mechanical design and integration with 3‑D CAD.
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies and drawings.
• Familiar with GD&T (ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41).
• Willing to travel up to 20% to suppliers and manufacturing facilities in FL.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and revise released drawings based on engineering change requests.
• Balance tasks across different Stage1Tanks products.
• Maintain high level Stage1Tank assembly including exporting data and automation of tasks.
• Design and maintain product definitions with drawings and layouts.
• Apply drafting standards to plan and maintain engineering datasets.
• Implement standards to balance cost, schedule and performance.
• Assist in development and deployment of drafting standards.
• Act as drafting standards checker for the team.
• Collaborate with design/analysis to disposition issues.
• Contribute to safe human spaceflight through quality work.
