Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a CAD Drafter III to develop, maintain, and release complex 3D and 2D drawings using Creo Parametric 12 and Windchill PLM. You will own design tasks across mechanical, structural, fluid, and electrical disciplines for ground support equipment supporting New Glenn launch operations.

The role requires strong GD&T knowledge and experience with MBD, ECRs, and large CAD assemblies, plus mentoring junior drafters in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• 2-year AS degree in CAD/Engineering Technology or equivalent OR 4-year BS degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Electrical or related field.
• 5+ years in a technical design role using CAD tools.
• Experience with Creo Parametric and Windchill PLM.
• Experience creating fabrication and installation drawings for complex assemblies.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41 and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Own complex design tasks and subsystems using Creo Parametric 12 and Windchill PLM.
• Develop and maintain Model-Based Definition datasets; promote MBD best practices.
• Lead mechanical/structural design including steel frameworks and lifting/rigging systems.
• Drive electrical system design and transition from AutoCAD Electrical to Creo workflows.
• Author ECRs and Change Notices for release and revision processing in Windchill.
• Mentor junior drafters and review designs during release.
