Job description

With minimal supervision in a distributed workforce environment, provide Accounts Receivable and Collections services to customers for all Lines of Business supported. This includes VSP's mid to large-market customers and/or strategic relationships with added degrees of complexity. Act as an expert advisor on Accounts Receivable and Collections services and provide support on client servicing and financial operations-related items, including account reconciliation, collections, analysis, and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

1. Act as VSP's primary point of contact for billing and collection inquiries from internal and external business partners.
2. Research and resolve a variety of complex internal and external inquiries.
3. Perform moderate to complex Accounts Receivable activities, including billing, cash application, reconciliation, customer research, and exception activities.
4. Create, review, and recommend documents for customer billing.
5. Provide accurate information to business partners and customers, and assist in understanding the billing and collection process.
6. Use data analysis to resolve billing disputes and payment issues, offering alternative solutions.
7. Resolve outstanding balances by leveraging knowledge of business systems and their relation to billing and collections.
8. Execute collection activities to maximize cash flow and ensure policy compliance.
9. Recommend billing adjustments, write-offs, and refunds, ensuring proper documentation.
10. Prepare billing and reconciliation reports.
11. Identify at-risk customers based on established triggers.
12. Collaborate with customers, Sales, Management, and other partners to address issues impacting receivables.
13. Analyze customer needs and provide education on VSP's capabilities, offering recommendations for billing structures.
14. Document and track trends indicating larger system or process issues and escalate accordingly.
15. Maintain data integrity and comply with confidentiality, security policies, and internal controls.
16. Assist in onboarding and mentoring new team members, and support business needs flexibly.

Job Specifications

Typically requires:

• 2-4 years of Accounts Service or Banking/Accounts Receivable experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Active Accounts Receivable Certification preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and data reporting.
• Availability to work full division hours.
• Clean credit history.

Preferred Skills

Experience with reconciliation and collections is advantageous.

Compensation
