Opensity Solutions is hiring a Senior Accountant for a remote role based in Ontario. You will support month-end close, financial reporting, and the year-end audit, reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting. The role emphasizes strong accounting skills, collaboration across FP&A and operations, and a proactive approach to process improvements.

Required 4–6 years of accounting experience, US GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Sage Intacct and Excel. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, corporate environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Experience with budgeting and reforecasting processes.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. Sage Intacct) and MS Office (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close activities and ensure timely completion.
• Prepare and record journal entries per US GAAP.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support annual budgeting with department heads for consolidation.
• Assist reforecasting with variance analysis and insights.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and strengthen controls.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for audits and regulators.
• Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and other units as needed.
