Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed P.E.s to drive business development and engineering work in materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services. You will balance client relationships with technical workload, while the company handles lab operations, field staff, and quality systems.

You will lead proposals, pricing and negotiations, convert opportunities into signed work, and serve as engineer of record on projects you win, coordinating with technicians and the lab

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing experience.
• Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients—including general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review field and lab data, resolve failing tests, and seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the lab on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
