Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a licensed Professional Engineer who is comfortable directing client conversations and technical reviews. You will balance business development with project engineering, while our lab and field staff support your work and you maintain relationships with owners, designers, and contractors.

You will scope, price, and write proposals for materials testing, geotechnical services, and special inspections, and seal reports as engineer of record on projects you win.

Qualifications

Active PE license in the posting state or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Track record of bringing in work or credible plan to do so.
Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a client book for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, write, and negotiate proposals; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, seal reports/letters.
Direct technicians and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
