Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who are as comfortable in a contractor's office pitching a testing program as they are reviewing a compaction report or sealing a geotechnical letter. You will carry a business development target and a technical workload, maintaining clients you win while your compensation follows the revenue you bring in.

The company handles the lab and field staff; you bring the relationships and the stamp.

Qualifications

Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Record of bringing in work or credible plan to do so in this market.
Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record; review field and laboratory data, seal reports and letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in the market.
