Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. This is an anticipated long-term substitute position starting 11/12/2026 and ending 12/21/2026, with per diem pay.

The role requires inclusive instruction, IEP development, accommodations, and collaboration with staff to support diverse learners. Massachusetts licensure and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree and a MA teaching license in Elementary 1-6.
• Must meet state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
• Must have current authorization to work in the United States by first day.
• Preferred SEI Endorsement or ESL license; experience in urban schools.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary General Curriculum in a setting inclusive of students with Special Needs and English Language Learners.
• Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays.
• Write and implement goals and objectives for IEPs and provide progress reports.
• Provide accommodations and develop curriculum as needed; collect and analyze student work.
• Collaborate with staff to respond to student needs for modification.
