Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. This long-term substitute role, starting 11/23/2026 and ending 06/12/2027, begins at per diem pay and is designed for per diem subs placed in a long-term assignment.

Reports To: Principal/Head of School. Responsibilities include teaching Elementary General Curriculum with SEI students, providing small-group instruction, writing

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
• Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6 AND Moderate Disabilities PK-8 AND either SEI Endorsement OR ESL license for the appropriate grade level.
• Must meet all state and federal licensing requirements and be Highly Qualified.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary General Curriculum in a setting inclusive of students with Special Needs and English Language Learners (SEI).
• Write and implement goals and objectives consistent with student IEPs and provide timely progress reports.
• Provide accommodations and, when needed, develop curriculum and collect/analyze student work for assessments (MCAS Alternative).
• Collaborate with staff to support student needs and modifications.
